Raul Perez El Castro de Valtuille Joven
Crafted by the renowned Spanish winemaker RaĂșl PĂ©rez, this wine comes from the village of Valtuille de Abajo in the Bierzo region of north-west Spain. Made from the native MencĂa grape, it showcases the freshness and aromatic intensity for which the variety has become famous. In the glass it displays a bright ruby colour, with lifted aromas of red cherries, raspberries and wild herbs, supported by subtle floral notes of violets.
On the palate, the wine is supple and medium-bodied, offering juicy red berry fruit, a hint of spice and lively acidity that makes it both vibrant and moreish. Soft tannins give it an easy drinkability, while a mineral edge reflects the slate soils of Bierzo. This is a wonderfully pure expression of MencĂa in its youthful style â perfect to enjoy slightly chilled with charcuterie, tapas or grilled white meats.
